Tips for exporting text strings

If a component (such as a display) is being edited and has not been saved when you begin the export operation, you will be prompted to save it. If you click

Yes

, the edits will be saved, the component will be closed, and then the export will continue. If you click

No

, the edits will not be saved, but the component will be closed and the export will continue.

If you cancel the export while it is in progress, any files that were created are not deleted, but their contents might not be complete.

If you are using

FactoryTalk Security

to secure applications at design time, you must have Common/Read and Common/Write security permissions for the application to export strings.

If a Text object has its

Size to Fit

property set to

, the object's size may differ for different languages.
