Name a backup archive

When backing up an application, you need to name a backup archive.
To name a backup archive
  1. In the
    Enter a name for the application archive
    box, type a name for the application you are backing up.
    The default name will be the name of the selected application.
    TIP:
    If the name is the same as an existing application, you will be prompted to overwrite the existing application. If you want to overwrite it, click
    Yes
    . If you do not want to overwrite it, click
    No
    and enter another name.
  2. Specify where to store the application archive. You can type the location, or click the
    Browse
    button (…) to search for and select the location.
    The default location for backup archives is
    \Users\Public\Public Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\Archives
  3. If you want to protect your backup files with a passphrase, select the
    Encrypt file contents
    check box.
    You will be required to enter the passphrase when you restore any backup file that is passphrase protected.
    TIP:
    If you do not wish to encrypt the backup file contents, it will be saved as a plain text backup file.
  4. If you selected the
    Encrypt file contents
    check box, type a passphrase and enter it again in the
    Confirm passphrase
    box.
  5. Click
    Finish
    .
All application configurations including
FactoryTalk Services Platform
/System, as well as the physical project folders of the HMI server, are backed up.
