Back up an application

Use this dialog box to back up an application.
TIP:
If you want to select a 7.0 or earlier version of application to back up, convert the application to current version in FactoryTalk View Studio before the operation.
With one or more projects that use security active, you can create an .apa backup file for any project and only that project’s associated security configuration will be included in the .apa file.
If you restore an application from an .apa file, the HMI server will be restored to the local computer and will not need to be rehosted.
To back up an application
  1. Select
    Backup application
     and click
    Next
    .
  2. From the list, select the application you want to back up, and then click
    Next
    .
If the operation succeeds, an archive file with the specified name and the extension .apa will be created and saved in the specified location.
