Set up recipe ingredients (Ingredients tab)
On the
Ingredients
tab, specify the ingredients and their types, the Min and Max values (if any), the data sets the ingredients are included in, and the tag sets associated with the data sets.This tab functions as a standard spreadsheet. Horizontal and vertical scroll bars appear if there is more content than can be shown in the tab.
Copy and Paste
You can copy the contents of the
Ingredients
tab and paste them into an Excel spreadsheet or into a new recipe using the items in the Edit
menu. When the Ingredients tab is open, the Edit
menu is enabled. When the General
or Units
tab of the editor are open, the menu items in the Edit
menu are disabled.
TIP:
- Hidden columns will be included in cut, copy, paste or paste insert operations.
- When pasting data from theIngredientstab or Excel spreadsheet into a new recipe, make sure that the recipe you are pasting into has at least as many columns as the one you are copying from. If there are not enough columns in the new recipe, the Paste and Paste Insert menu items will not be available.
- A recipe file can have up to 15000 ingredients. However,PanelView Plus 7,PanelView Plus 6,PanelView Plus, orPanelView Plus CEterminals have a maximum of 5000 HMI tags. If your application is intended to run on one of these terminals, be sure that not more than 5000 HMI tags are referenced by the recipe ingredients. Applications running on desktop,PanelView Plus 7,PanelView Plus 6,PanelView Plus, orPanelView Plus CEcan use up to 15000 direct reference tags.
Options
- IngredientType the name of the ingredient. Examples might be Sugar, Nitric acid, Secret sauce, 55mm carriage bolts, 2x4 oak, etc.This property is optional.
- TypeSpecify whether the data value should be interpreted as a number or a string.If the type is Number, the value, if present, must be a valid integer or floating point number.If the type is String, the value, if present, can be any string. The Min and Max properties do not apply.This property is required.
- MinIf the ingredient type is Number, type the smallest value that can be written to the tag when the recipe is downloaded or the ingredient is edited in the table at runtime.The possible range is -1.797693E+308 to 1.797693E+308.This property is optional.
- MaxIf the ingredient type is Number, type the largest value that can be written to the tag when the recipe is downloaded or the ingredient is edited in the table at runtime.The possible range is -1.797693E+308 to 1.797693E+308.This property is optional.
- Decimal PlacesIf the ingredient type is Number, select the number of decimals that can be written to the recipe file when uploading or editing the recipe file at runtime. For example, if the tag value in the controller is 1.26 and the specified decimal place is 1, the ingredient value will be rounded to 1.3 when saving the recipe file. If the decimal place is not specified, 1.26 will be saved.This property is optional.
- Data SetWhen a new recipe file is created, one data set is created, and named Data Set 1. To rename or delete this data set, or to insert a new data set, click the Recipe menu at the top of theFactoryTalk View Studioframe. Data set names can have a maximum of 31 characters.In the row for each ingredient, type the data value in the cell of theData setcolumn.
- Tag SetWhen a new recipe file is created, one tag set is created, and named Tag Set 1. To rename or delete this tag set, or to insert a new tag set, click the Recipe menu at the top of theFactoryTalk View Studioframe. Tag set names can have a maximum of 31 characters.In the row for each ingredient, insert the tag name associated with the data value in the cell of the tag set column. You can type the tag names or select tags from the Tag Browser. To open the Tag Browser, click in the cell and pressCtrl-T, right-click in the cell and selectTag Browser, or selectTag Browserfrom theEditmenu.TIP:TheFactoryTalk View MERecipe system is primarily intended for use over networks that allow data to be read and written to the same tag address in the controller, such as Ethernet, ControlNet Unscheduled, and DH+. If unidirectional networks such as Remote I/O, ControlNet Scheduled, and DeviceNet I/O are used, tag sets and data sets can only be downloaded or uploaded, not both. Therefore, unidirectional networks are not recommended for use with RecipePlus.
- Show/Hide columnsClick this box to open theShow/Hide Columnsdialog box, where you can choose which columns will be shown on theIngredientstab.
