Download Runtime Tools on the device

FactoryTalk® Optix
Runtime Tools are required on any device running a
FactoryTalk® Optix
application.
Runtime Tools include the
FactoryTalk® Optix Entitlement Manager
and
FactoryTalk® Optix
Application Update Service.
Runtime Tools are embedded in OptixPanel graphic terminals by default, so downloading and installing them is unnecessary.
If using a Runtime device, download Runtime Tools from the
FactoryTalk® Optix
landing page. The download includes
Entitlement Manager
.
  1. Access the
    FactoryTalk® Optix
    landing page. See FactoryTalk Optix landing page.
  2. On the
    FactoryTalk® Optix
    landing page, select
    Runtime Tools
    .

  3. Scroll to
    Runtime Tools Release
    to view released versions.
  4. (optional) To view the
    FactoryTalk® Optix
    release notes, select
    Release Notes
    .
  5. (optional) To view the latest changes in
    FactoryTalk® Optix
    , select
    Changelog
    .

  6. (optional) In
    Search
    , type the release number to find a specific Runtime Tools release.
  7. To download a specific Runtime Tools release, select Download icon
    Download
    next to the desired version number.
  8. Select the checkbox next to
    FactoryTalk Optix Runtime Tools
    installation package, then select the first Download icon symbol in the upper-right corner. Select
    Download Now
    .

  9. Scroll to read the EULA and select
    Accept and Download
    .
  10. Install
    Rockwell Automation Download Manager
    from your Downloads folder. Select Download Manager icon.

    installs, runs, and downloads Runtime Tools to the specified folder. Download progress displays in
    Rockwell Automation Download Manager
    .
  11. To change the Runtime Tools download path, select
    Change
    after the path and choose a different folder.
  12. Runtime Tools are ready for installation.
