Synchronize to create phases in the area model

Use these instructions to synchronize the area model to create phases.
Prerequisites:
  • Install
    Logix Designer
    and
    FactoryTalk Linx
    on the same computer as
    FactoryTalk Batch Equipment Editor
    .
  • If the new phase is not added to an existing unit, create a unit to contain the new phase in
    FactoryTalk Batch Equipment Editor
    . Create a project file in
    Logix Designer
    and define equipment phases.
  • In the area model, define a
    Logix5000
    CIP data server for the
    Logix5000
    controller that is connected to the new machine, and specify this project file. (See
    Add a
    Logix5000
    CIP data server
    for more information.)
  • In the area model, configure a unit instance to add the new phase to and a
    Logix5000
    CIP data server for the controller specified in the project file.
To synchronize to create phases in the area model:
  1. Save the area model and select a data server to synchronize.
  2. Select the phases to create in the area model.
  3. Select a phase class and unit for the new phase and synchronize.
    OR
    Create a new phase class for the phase, select a unit, and synchronize.
