Verify and deploy an updated area model using the FactoryTalk Batch Service Manager
To prepare an online area model for deployment, an operator can verify that changes made to
the area model are permitted.
TIP:
You will be asked to login to FactoryTalk to perform this procedure.
You must be able to login with a user account that has been granted the
Configure Runtime Area Model Deployment
permission in the product policy configuration stored in the FactoryTalk Directory>System\Policies\Product Policies\Batch\Feature Security location. Members of the Administrator group have this permission by default.
FactoryTalk Batch
Server. If the set of differences is permitted by the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server, the updated area model is successfully
deployed.

User GuideTo verify an updated area model using the FactoryTalk Batch
Service Manager:
- Open theFactoryTalk BatchService Manager.
- SelectVerify/Deploy Area Model.
- If prompted, log on toFactoryTalk.
- Select an area model from theUpdated Area Modellist.
- SelectVerify Area Modelto compare the original area model with the updated area model.
- If the verification is not successful, a message displays. SelectView Logto view the reason for the differences that are not permitted.
- SelectClose.
To deploy an updated area model using the FactoryTalk Batch
Service Manager:
- Open theFactoryTalk BatchService Manager.
- SelectVerify/Deploy Area Model.
- If prompted, log on toFactoryTalk.
- Select an area model from theUpdated Area Modellist.
- SelectDeploy Area Model.TheStatusarea displays whether the deployment is allowed. If it is not successful, a message displays. SelectView Logto view the details. If the operator attempting to deploy an updated area model does not have the requiredFactoryTalkpermissions, this button is disabled.
- SelectClose.
