Set security on folders or files

Limit log file and event journal (.evt or .evtj) access to prevent data from being lost. Setting security on the folders or files is one suggested method. Set the security according to company requirements.
Use Notepad to open log files. If a log file is opened with a program other than Notepad, the
FactoryTalk Batch
Server may not run due to an access error.
IMPORTANT:
FactoryTalk Batch
Server continues writing information to log files and event journals (
.evt
or
.evtj
) even when they are open. If a file is opened and then saved, data that may have been written to the event journal or log file while the file is open is lost.
