Edit menu
Some commands shown below are only available under certain circumstances. If a command listed does not appear on your menu and no other reason is given, it means you do not have security rights to perform that function. You need to configure security for FactoryTalk AssetCentre.

Redo | Not implemented in this release. |
Cut | Combined with the Paste command, Cut moves an asset from one location in the tree to another. Select the asset, then select Cut . Click on the container in which you want to place the asset, then select the Paste command. The asset that was cut does not disappear from its original location until it is pasted in the new location. |
Copy | Combined with the Paste command, Copy duplicates an asset in the tree. First copy the asset, then select the container in which you want to place the asset, then paste the asset. |
Paste | Combined with the Cut (or Copy ) button, the Paste button moves (or copies) an asset from one location in the tree to another. Select the asset, then click the Cut (or Copy ) button. Click on the container in which you want to place the asset, then click the Paste button. |
Delete | Deletes the selected asset (if in Design mode), search, schedule, or address book contact. This has the same function as the Delete button on the Asset View toolbar, Search toolbar, Schedules toolbar, and Address Book toolbar. |
Select All | Selects all the information in the Log Item Details on the Logs tab so it can be copied and pasted. |
Rename | Opens the name of the selected asset for editing. |
Design Mode | Toggles Design mode for the Asset View on and off. |
Find | Searches the Address Book. Only available if the Address Book is active in the Workspace Pane. |
Asset Find | Searches for provided text within the names of Devices, Files, Binders, Folders, Containers, and Links in the asset tree. |
Quick Search | Initiates a Quick Search of the logs. Only visible when the Logs tab is active in the Workspace Pane. |
Refresh | Updates the selected log in the Logs View to include any new items since the last automatic refresh. Only visible when the Logs tab is active in the Workspace Pane. |
Security | Only available in Design mode. Opens the security settings for the selected asset in the Asset View. |
Active | Activates or deactivates a scheduled event or search. Only active schedules can run automatically. Inactive schedules can be run on demand with the Run Now command. Only visible when the Schedules tab is active in the Workspace Pane. |
Properties | Shows properties for the selected asset in the Asset View. When in Design mode you can edit the asset's properties if you have appropriate permissions. You need the Configure Security permission for that particular asset. |
