Items in Compare Options dialog box for Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller

Items in the dialog box include:
  • Processor Configuration
Select this option to compare all the controller’s configuration files except for I/O module configuration files.
  • I/O Modules
Select this option to compare the I/O modules’ configuration files.
  • Tasks, Programs, and Routines
Select this option to compare all logic files in the controller (ladder, function block, structured text and so forth). This is analogous to comparing ladder files in an Allen-Bradley PLC-5 Controller.
  • Tags and Data Types
Select this option to compare all the tag names and declared types.
    • All Tag Values
Select this option to compare the values of all the tags. (This is analogous to comparing data files in an Allen-Bradley PLC-5 Controller.) This option is only available if you select
      Tags and Data Types
(above). Selecting this option could result in a very extensive report.
    • Constant Tag Values
(Available only for ControlLogix version 19 or higher with Compare Tool version 3.20.00 or higher) Select this option to compare only constant tag values. Other tag values are not compared, which greatly decreases the size of the report.
      If you select the
      Tag Values
check box, constant tag values are compared along with the rest of the tag values, so this check box is automatically selected and made unavailable.
This option is only available if you select
      Tags and Data Types
      (above).
    • Tag Filter
Select this option to compare the values of selected tags only. To specify which tags you want to compare, use the Tag Filter setting in the
      Logix 5000 Controller Properties
      pane in the
      Schedules
      tab. For how to use
      Advanced Settings
in Tag Filter, see Filter tags with expression.
This option is only available if you select
      Tags and Data Types
      (above).
