Get
Retrieve a read-only copy of a file to your current working folder. FactoryTalk AssetCentre's Archive is like a library, therefore getting a file is like photocopying a document and leaving the original in the library. Generally, you get a file when you only want to view the file, and do not want to edit it. However, you have the option of retrieving a writable copy of a file when you get it.

Key file
A key file for a binder is the file that will be opened when the binder is opened through FactoryTalk AssetCentre (or through a desktop shortcut created from within FactoryTalk AssetCentre). A file association for that type of file should be set in
Tools > Options
to specify what software to use to open the file. For example, if the binder contains an RSView project, specify the .RSV file as the key file because that is the file that will open the project in RSView. In Tools > Options
specify RSView as the software to use to open .rsv files.- L -
