Update the I/O modules of all Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller assets in the asset tree

Load I/O modules from the latest or pinned version of each Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller asset' configuration data file, so that the Controller I/O properties of all Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller assets in the asset tree are updated automatically. To load I/O modules, the configuration data file must be configured and Studio 5000 Logix Designer with the same version as the configuration data file must be installed.
To update the I/O modules of all Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller assets
  1. If you are not in Design mode, click design_mode_button.
  2. On the menu bar, select
    Tasks > Update All Logix5000 Asset Controller IO Properties
    .
  3. In the tree view of the
    Select Logix5000 assets to update controller IO properties
    dialog box, select the Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller assets whose Controller I/O properties you want to update.
    TIP:
    Only Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller assets with configuration data file configured are listed.
    Point to an asset to show the tool tip that indicates the configuration data file information.
  4. Select
    Overwrite with Current ACD
    .
  5. When promoted to confirm the operation, click
    Yes
    .
    The system will load I/O modules from the latest or pinned version of each Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller asset' configuration data file.
    TIP:
    A progress bar is displayed showing the operation progress. Updating a large number of Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controllers may take a long time.
    To cancel the update, click
    Stop
    . It will only cancel the update to assets that have not started. Any update that is in progress will continue until it completes.
  6. When the message indicating the operation completes shows, click
    OK
    .
  7. (optional) To save the operation summary, click
    Save Summary
    .
  8. Click
    OK
    to save the Controller I/O properties update.
    TIP:
    Clicking
    Cancel
    will ignore the update.
After the update completes, a green or red icon shows next to the assets indicating whether the update succeeded or failed. Point to a red icon to view the reason of the failed update, which will also be included in the operation summary.
