Items in UNC Path dialog box

Items in the dialog box include:
  • UNC Path
Specify the folder on the remote computer on which you want to run Disaster Recovery operations. Use UNC (Uniform Naming Convention) syntax to provide the path. The best way to do this is to click
    Browse
and navigate to the folder on the remote computer. This avoids syntax errors.
UNC syntax for this field is of the form:
    \\computer name\shared folder
    .
Be sure to share the target folder and turn on TCP Port 445 in the remote computer.
    IMPORTANT:
TCP port 445 can be turned off in the computers with
    FactoryTalk AssetCentre
system or its components. If using Disaster Recovery for Remote Computer, the remote computer with the shared folder must have TCP port 445 turned on for file sharing.
  • Username
Type a username for an account that has access to the shared folder specified in the UNC Path.
If operating in a domain environment, include the domain name. For example,
    domain/username
    .
  • Password
Type the password for the user account.
  • Connect
    Click
    Connect
to test the connection to the remote computer.
