Configure security

By default, the Administrators and All Users groups in FactoryTalk Directory with the right to switch to Design mode can perform operations in the
FactoryTalk AssetCentre
 Import Export Utility. To deny specific users the right to perform operations, edit the
Switch to Design mode
 policy setting in the FactoryTalk Administration Console.
To configure security for the
FactoryTalk AssetCentre
 Import Export Utility
  1. Select
    Start > Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Administration Console
    .
  2. In the
    Explorer
     pane, navigate to
    System > Policies > Product Policies > FactoryTalk AssetCentre
    .
  3. Double-click
    Feature Security
    .
  4. Click the
    Switch to Design mode
     policy setting, and then click browse_button_small next to the words
    Configure Security
    .
  5. In the
    Configure Securable Action
    dialog, select the user or group for whom you want to assign the permission. (If the user or group does not appear in the list, click
    Add
    , click
    Show all
    , select the user or group, and then click
    OK
    .)
  6. Click the box to allow or deny the user permission to the selected
    Switch to Design mode
     feature.
  7. Click
    OK
    .
