FactoryTalk AssetCentre Import Export Utility

The
FactoryTalk® AssetCentre
 Import Export Utility allows you to create a mass of new assets, import assets with customized properties, and edit or duplicate assets of an asset node.
IMPORTANT:
  • This tool does not support exporting a CSV file from one FactoryTalk AssetCentre system and importing it into another FactoryTalk AssetCentre system.
  • This tool does not support operations for
    Siemens®
    S7 Controller (TIA Portal™), Mitsubishi® Controller (GX Works2™), Mitsubishi Controller (GX Works3™), and Schneider® Controller (Control Expert) asset types.
  • The version of this tool must match the version of the FactoryTalk AssetCentre system. For example, the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Import Export Utility version 15.00.00 should not be used with FactoryTalk AssetCentre version 16.00.00. Starting from FactoryTalk AssetCentre version 16.00.00, you can install this tool by selecting the
    AssetCentre Import Export Utility
     option during the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Desktop Client or FactoryTalk AssetCentre Custom installation. This option is selected by default. For more information, see Install the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Desktop Client software in the

This tool provides the following four options:
  • New mass creation
    Creates a group of new assets of different types in the asset tree all at once.
  • New import
    Imports a batch of assets with user-defined asset properties.
  • Edit assets of an asset node
    Edits properties of assets under a certain asset node.
  • Duplicate assets of an asset node
    Duplicates an existing node of assets in the asset tree.
To create, import, edit, or duplicate assets, make sure that no other user in the system is in Design mode in FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client. This allows the tool to update the asset tree as designed.
