Settings for Database Limitations

Settings
How to configure
Total maximum size of the AssetCentre database
Enter a value for the total maximum size of the AssetCentre database. No minimum value is required
Size warning levels
Specify the percentage of database capacity as the Warning level or Critical level. The status of database usage appears in the lower-right corner of the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client.
Maximum number of versions per archive asset
Enter a value for the maximum version number of an asset in the archive.
You can also configure the maximum number of versions per asset in Archive.
Maximum size of database table capturing logs
Enter a value for the maximum file size of Event Log, Audit Log, and Diagnostics and Health Log.
If the file size of any log exceeds its maximum size, FactoryTalk AssetCentre writes the log, and adds a warning log about the current event log size exceeding its maximum size.
When the Event, Audit, or Diagnostics and Health logs reach the maximum size, a warning message appears when you run the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client, indicating the log size status.
Database capacity status refresh rate
Enter a value to specify the frequency to refresh the database capacity status. The default value is 2. The minimum accepted value is 1, and 0 is not accepted. When the database capacity reaches the warning or critical level, or the Event, Audit, or Diagnostics and Health logs reach the maximum size, a warning message appears when the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client refreshes the database capacity status.
If the database capacity status refresh rate changes, the elapsed time will reset to zero. For example, if you change the database capacity status refresh rate from two hours to one hour, the previous timer will reset to zero, and it will start counting from the current time and refresh again after one hour.
Email notification
Specify the email addresses to receive notifications when the database reaches the warning levels or exceeds the maximum size setting. The log table size will also trigger an email notification when it reaches or exceeds the maximum size setting.
Note: If the number of the maximum asset version exceeds the setting value, the oldest version will be deleted without sending the email notification. Version 1 will not be deleted.
Select the browse buttonellipsis button to select an email address from the Contacts and Groups address book dialog.
Verify settings
Validate whether the current total database size, event log size, audit log size, diagnostics and health log size, and asset versions meet each own specified threshold. This operation is required when making any changes to the Database Limitations.
TIP:
If you set any value as 0 or higher than the maximum size, or leave any value blank, it is translated as unlimited.
