Add I/O boards and complex equipment to a rack list
Add I/O devices to a project when developing an application. Add individual simple and complex I/O devices to the rack list. The rack list holds a maximum of 255 simple devices.
Insert I/O devices from the
Device Selector
. Each device is assigned a device order number ranging from 0 to 254 and has a defined number of channels. Modify the order number to use any empty slot. Include a comment. Expand individual devices to access their properties.I/O devices from a rack list contain these types:

To add I/O devices to a rack list
- From theApplication View, right-click the device, and then clickI/O Wiring.
- On theI/O Wiringtoolbar, click
to add complex equipment and I/O boards to the rack list.
- In theDevice Selector, select an I/O device from the list of available devices.The device order number and number of channels is defined for the I/O device in the library.
