Create a program

Use the
Create Program
 dialog box to create programs for tasks and
FactoryTalk Smart Object
s. For large or complex programming tasks, it can help to break up the logic into multiple programs. Each program has its own tags that logic in other programs cannot access. You can create up to 1000 programs.
  1. On the explorer bar, select Execution Icon
    Execution

  2. Navigate to and right-click the item and select
    New Program
    .
  3. In
    New Program
    :
    • Name.
       Enter a name for the program.
    • Description.
       Enter a description of the program.
    • Class.
       Select
      Standard
       or
      Safety
      . For more information on safety programs, see Create a safety program.
    • (Optional) Set
      Create a Main Routine
       to
      On
      .
    • Main Routine type.
       Select
      Ladder Diagram
      .
  4. Select
    Create
    . The new program and main routine appear in System Icon
    System
    .
