Counter – Fault/Program Actions View

Use Counter– Fault/Program Actions to configure the behavior of the counter when the module is in Program mode or Fault mode, or when a communication fault occurs.
Counter – Fault/Program Actions View Example
The Counter – Fault/Program Actions view includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Counter State in Program Mode
Determines the behavior of the counter when the controller transitions to Program Mode or Inhibit mode. While in Program Mode or Inhibit mode, counters from the controller are ignored and the counter behaves as follows:
  • Countinue counting
  • Hold – Retain the last count and resume counting from this count when the controller transitions to Run Mode.
  • User-defined value – Set the count to the user-defined value and resume counting from this value when the controller transitions to Run Mode.
Counter State in Program Mode
User-defined Value
Defines the value that is set to count when Counter State in Program Mode is selected as User-defined value.
Reset stored values in Program Mode
Determines whether to reset the stored values when the controller transitions to Program Mode or Inhibit mode.
Counter State in Communication Fault Mode
Determines what happens to the counter after a communication fault occurs and the module enters Communication Fault Mode.
  • Countinue counting
  • Hold – Retain the last count and resume counting from this count when the controller transitions to Run Mode.
  • User-defined value – Set the count to the user-defined value and resume counting from this value when the controller transitions to Run Mode.
Counter State in Communication Fault Mode
User-defined Value
Defines the value that is set to count when Counter State in Communication Fault Mode is selected as User-defined value.
Reset stored values in Communication Fault Mode
Determines whether to reset the stored values after a communication fault occurs and the module enters Communication Fault Mode.
When Communication Fails in Program Mode
Determines the counter action if communication fails in Program Mode.
  • Leave counter in Program Mode state – Follow the behavior for Program Mode.
  • Change counter to Communication Fault Mode state – Follow the behavior for Communication Fault Mode.
