Serial port - DNP3 slave configuration page

Use the DNP3 slave configuration page to do the following actions:
The following controllers support DNP3 slave:
  • 2080-L70E-24QBBN
  • 2080-L70E-24QWBN
The displayed configuration settings vary with the
Micro800
controller selection.

Setting
Description
Common Settings
Baud rate
Lists the baud rate in bits per second. Options are:
  • 1200
  • 2400
  • 4800
  • 9600
  • 19200
  • 38400
The default value is 38400.
Parity
Lists the parity bit usage in the communication packets. Options are:
  • None
  • Odd
  • Even
The default value is None.
Node address
Specifies the address of the controller on the DNP3 network. Each address on the network must be unique.
The value is from 0 through 65519. The default value is 1.
Protocol Control
Enable master address validation
Determines whether to accept requests from other addresses.
  • Select the checkbox to accept the commands from only the DNP3 master, which is configured by specifying the master node addresses for nodes 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4.
  • Clear the checkbox to accept the master requests from any node addresses.
The checkbox is cleared by default.
Enable self-address
Selects the checkbox to accept and process any packets that contain the destination address 65532 (FFFCh).
This provides a mechanism for a master to discover the configured address of the controller when connected point-to-point. In a network environment, the checkbox must be left cleared.
Master node
Specifies the master node address. The addresses for node 1, 2, 3, and 4 are available when master address validation is enabled.
The address is from 0 through 65519.
Master node 0
is available by default.
Media
Specifies the supported media types. Options are as follows:
  • RS232
  • RS485
The default setting is
RS232
.
Control line
Specifies the type of handshake that is used for communication.
  • Select
    No Handshake
for direct point-to-point communication without a modem.
  • Select
Half Duplex without continuous carrier (RTS/CTS)
    for modem-based communication.
The default setting is
No Handshake
.
Confirmation timeout
Specifies the time, in milliseconds, for which the controller waits before resending the unsolicited response.
The value is from 20 ms through 1,400 s.
Stop bits
Specifies the number of stop bits per character. Options include
1
and
2
. 1 is the default option.
Request LL confirmation
Turns on or turns off Request LL confirmation.
  • Select the checkbox to turn on Request LL confirmation. The primary frames are sent with the function code
    FC_CONFIRMED_USER_DATA (3)
    .
  • Clear the checkbox to turn off Request LL confirmation. The primary frames are sent with the function code
    FC_UNCONFIRMED_USER_DATA (4)
    .
Send LL confirmation
Turns on or turns off Send LL confirmation.
  • Select the checkbox to turn on Send LL confirmation. The optional secondary frame is sent with the function code
    FC_NACK (1)
    or
    FC_NOT_SUPPORTED (15)
    .
  • Clear the checkbox to turn off Send LL confirmation. The optional secondary frame is not sent.
Message retries
Specifies the number of message resend attempts. The value is from 0 through 255.
Pre-transmission delay
Specifies the amount of time before the
Micro800
controller sends the packet.
The value is from 0 through 65535. The default value is 0.
RTS off delay
Specifies the delayed amount of time between the end of a transmission and the Ready To Send (RTS) drop. It is available when
Half Duplex without continuous carrier (RTS/CTS)
is selected for
Control line
.
The value is from 0 through 32767. The default value is 0.
RTS send delay
Specifies the delayed amount of time between the activation of RTS and the initiation of a transmission. It is available when
Half Duplex without continuous carrier (RTS/CTS)
is selected for
Control line
.
The value is from 0 through 32767. The default value is 0.
