Register the Historian ME module in the FactoryTalk Administration Console
If you want to add your Historian ME module to the FactoryTalk Directory, you need to register it in the FactoryTalk Administration Console.
To register the Historian ME module in the FactoryTalk Administration Console
- Go toStart > All Programs > Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Administration Console.TheFactoryTalk Administration Consolewindow appears.
- In theSelect FactoryTalk Directorydialog box, clickNetwork, and then clickOK.TIP:FactoryTalk Historian ME and FactoryTalk Historian SE support only theNetworkoption in the FactoryTalk Directory.
- In theExplorerpane, expandSystem > Connections.
- Right-clickHistorical Data ME, and then clickNew Historian ME Server Connection.TheHistorian ME Serverdialog box appears.
- In theNametext box, type a name for the new server connection.We suggest that you match the server connection name to your module name. The server connection name must begin with a letter or a number and contain only letters, numbers, underscores, and spaces.
- UnderServer or Collective Name, do either of the following:
- Select your FactoryTalk Historian ME IP address from the list.
- Type a new server name or IP address.
- ClickTest Server Connection.You should receive aServer foundmessage. If you do not receive this message within a few minutes, the module may still be restarting. Wait a few more minutes, verify the server name or IP address, and try again.
- ClickOK.After the module is registered with the FactoryTalk Directory, its name appears underHistorical Data MEin theExplorerpane.
