Deploy a project to a controller
    Prerequisites
To deploy projects to controllers, you use two applications in addition to
FactoryTalk Design Studio
:- FactoryTalk Remote AccessManager. The FactoryTalk Remote Access Manager provides a virtual private network (VPN) connection from FactoryTalk Design Studio in the cloud to controllers and devices on the plant floor. You use FactoryTalk Remote Access Manager to configure an endpoint that connects withFactoryTalk Design Studio.
- FactoryTalk Linx, which provides the browser you use to view the endpoint in the plant and browse to controllers and devices connected to it.
You can access FactoryTalk Remote Access Manager on the FactoryTalk Hub. FactoryTalk Linx
      appears in the Deploy center.
     TIP:
When you deploy a controller application, if there is a
warning or error in any controller to which you are deploying,
Pre-deployment
          issues
opens with a list of controllers, statuses, and issues. Controller
statuses include:- Warnings.Recoverable issues that require user approval to automatically resolve the issue during deployment. For example, you could approve automatic clearing a major fault present in the controller or changing the port mode of the controller.
- Errors. Non-recoverable issues that cannot be resolved. The controller application will not be deployed to the target device.
     TIP:
You might need permission to use FactoryTalk Remote Access Manager and FactoryTalk Linx. See Managing user roles and access for more information.
To deploy a project to a controller
     IMPORTANT:
When you deploy a project to one or more controllers, all controllers remain in Program mode. The controllers remain in Program mode until you go online with each controller and set the mode to Run. You can go online with one controller at a time.
- Set the physical controller's key switch or toggle switch to REM (Remote). If the mode switch on the physical controller is set to RUN or PROG, you cannot deploy a project to it from FactoryTalk Design Studio.
- On the top toolbar, select to open the Deploy center. to open the Deploy center.
- If paths are not set for the controllers, set the device path for each controller. You can type a path or select the path through the driver in the FactoryTalk Linx browser component. For specific steps to add a VPN driver, see Add a VPN driver.
- Select the check boxes for the controllers to which you want to deploy the project.TIP: Before deploying to a 5069 CompactLogix controller, verify that theEtherNet/IPport configuration in the project matches the target device.
- Select . A progress bar indicates the status of the current build and deployment for each controller. . A progress bar indicates the status of the current build and deployment for each controller.
- IfPre-deployment isssuesopens, review the warnings and errors for each controller application to be deployed:- If only warnings appear, select all of the issues to acknowledge that they will be resolved during deployment and then selectNext.- If it is undesireable to deploy to the target device due to the warnings, you can selectNextwithout selecting all of the displayed issues. If you do not select all issues, the controller application will not deploy to the target device.

- If any error conditions appear, the controller application will not deploy to the target device. SelectNext.

- At the prompt, select the controller you want to go online with when deployment is complete.Noneis a valid selection. If there are errors during deployment, check the View messages and status with the Output pane for messages. Check the Online pane for controller status and messages.TIP: You can be online with only one controller at a time.
