North American Standards
At Rockwell Automation, we learned many years ago that Panel and Industrial Machine Builders see us not only as a supplier of automation components, but also as a consultant to support them in their choice in compliance with local Standards, especially for projects based in North America. “NAS” is the cross BU initiative to link the product and the expertise we developed on Technical Standards such as UL508A.

What You Will Learn
This event explores the key considerations that you need to be aware of when exporting your panel or machine business to the North American market:
- The differences in approach between North America and the EU.
- The major factors in selecting starter types in branch motor circuits.
- Choosing between fuses, circuit-breakers or self-protected manual motor controllers?
- The impact of neutral connection to ground on Type E self-protected manual motor controllers.
Why It Matters
- Gain key insights on meeting standards, even when approaches and design equivalencies differ substantially.
- Learn how compliance can give you a competitive advantage in the major North American marketplace.
Our Portfolio
- Power circuits devices
- On-board systems
- Related auxiliary circuits
- Electrical motor control and protection
- Starter Types in Branch Motor Circuits
- Fuses, Circuit Breakers and Self-Protected Manual Motor Controllers
Safety
Explore the fundamentals and updates about machinery Safety. We will introduce you to the current regulations including Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Finally, we will show you how the machinery safety portfolio can provide real-time data to enable the Connected Enterprise.

What You Will Learn
The Machinery Directive will be replaced by the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 in 2027, introducing new requirements for both machine builders and end users.
- Join us as we guide you through the legislative changes and provide updates on key supporting European harmonised standards.
- SMART safety solutions offer real-time visibility into how safety systems are used. During the Technology Forum, we will demonstrate how data can be accessed from our SMART safety solutions and highlight the benefits this brings.
- Our TÜV-certified safety team will be available to showcase our safety products and answer any questions you may have regarding machinery safety applications.
Why It Matters
- Compliance with the new Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 will be mandatory from 2027. Non-compliance will prevent OEMs from selling their equipment within the EU.
