MILWAUKEE, October 14, 2021 /3BL Media/ - As National Hispanic Heritage Month concludes this week, several Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) employees reflected on this year’s theme, “Deja tu Huella” or “Leave Your Mark.”
Lucia Loza Galezewski, president of Rockwell’s Latinx Professional Network employee resource group (ERG), noted, “Here in Milwaukee, Latinos are the fastest-growing population. How can professionals like us leave a legacy and a mark for not only ourselves, but also the generations that are to come?”
Galezewski, a Rockwell finance manager, said that by telling their stories and speaking up in their organizations and communities, Latinos and Latinas are helping to keep momentum for continued progress.
Polo Paredes, North American channel manager at Rockwell, wants to leave his mark as a leader by supporting others so they can do great work.
“As a servant leader, I want to influence and inspire through humility and humbleness, treating others the way they want and deserve to be treated,” Paredes said. “I hope to encourage commitment because that triggers engagement. When we as people and teams are more engaged, we are more innovative and successful.”
At Rockwell, he added, “we have an environment where people feel a strong sense of welcoming and belonging. Where we are free to pursue new ideas. Where we value difference and treat each other with respect”.
Heidy Velasquez, a senior executive assistant, is leaving her mark as a member of the Rockwell Software & Control Inclusion Change Team.
“I want to help others open their hearts and minds and listen to what people are saying to make our company better for everyone,” Velasquez said. “To leave a mark, I need to speak up and participate. Being part of this team and employee resource groups like the Latinx Professional Network gives me channels to voice my opinion and collaborate.”
