Sampling method
Select one of the following options:
  • Use a fixed number of samples.
The number of samples specified determines the number of values, or rows, returned.
  • Use a variable number of samples.
The number of samples is derived by dividing the entire request time period into specified time slices.
  • Sample every.
Specifies a time period during which the sampling is done.
  • Starting from.
Specifies whether the returned values should be aligned with the start time of the requested time period or the end time.
Whether you choose to anchor your results to the beginning of the time period or end of the time period can have subtle effects on the display.
If your results include 98 samples and you sample every 10 seconds, anchoring from the beginning of the time period will cause the last 10 second time slice, or "bucket", to contain data from 8 samples, as opposed to 10.
The reverse is true if you anchor from the end of the time period: all "buckets" will consist of 10 samples except for bucket 1, which will hold the remainder of 8 values.
