Set up shading

Set up a trend display so that shading emphasizes a comparison between two or more pens. At least two pens must be defined on the
Pens
tab before you can use shading.
TIP:
Shading is determined by the position of lines on the screen, not by the actual tag values. For best shading results, use the same minimum and maximum values for each pen.
When isolated graphing is selected from the
Y-Axis
tab, or when an XY Plot chart style is selected from the
General
tab, shading is unavailable.
To set up shading:
  1. Using the
    Pens
    tab, define three pens:
    • Define Pen 1 to show a tag value.
    • Define Pen 2 to show the upper alarm threshold.
    • Define Pen 3 to show the lower alarm threshold.
  2. In Pen 1’s
    Upper Bound
column, specify Pen 2 as the upper shading boundary.
  3. In Pen 1’s
    Lower Bound
column, specify Pen 3 as the lower shading boundary.
  4. Click
    OK
    .
The shaded area will be in Pen 1’s line color.
