Save pen changes at runtime

After you add one, or more pens to a trend chart at runtime, you can save the changes so that you can use those settings again later.
For example, an operator needs to look at pens 1, 2 and 3 at runtime, but those pens weren't configured with the project. Rather than add these pens every time, they close and reopen a trend, they want to be able to add the pens once, save them, and then the next time they run the trend, be able to load the pens without selecting them all again.
To save pen changes at runtime:
  1. On the
    Template
    tab of the Trend
    Properties
    dialog box, select
    Pens tab
, and then in the right-hand pane, select the
    Pens
    check box.
  2. Click
    Save Template
, and then type a name for the template.
  3. To use these settings, click
    Load Template
    on the
    Template
tab, select the name you gave this template, and then click
    OK
    .
    TIP:
If you create a trend template with tag placeholders in design mode, and then apply the template at runtime, the tag placeholders will not work. However, if you create a trend template with tag placeholders during runtime, the tag placeholders will work.
