Client Keys editor

Use the Client Keys editor to define client keys for an application.
When you are developing an application, it is a good idea to have a client key that opens the main display. This way, if display navigation is not completely set up and the FactoryTalk View SE Client is empty, you can use the client key to open the main display instead of restarting the
FactoryTalk View SE
Client.
The following table shows options in the editor.
Option
Description
Label
Type a label to identify the client key.
Press Action
A press action is carried out as soon as the key, or key sequence, is pressed. Type the macro or command that is to run when the key is pressed, or use the equal command to specify how the tag value is to change.
Repeat Action
A repeat action is carried out multiple times when the key is pressed and held. The action is repeated at the rate specified in Windows Control Panel.
The actions should be commands that change tag values. Actions that require user input or may take a long time to execute could result in undesirable results.
Release Action
A release action is carried out when the key is released.
