Duplicate a component

For editors that can have multiple components, such as graphics displays, recipes and derived tags, you can duplicate and rename an existing component. This creates a copy of the component with a different name and stored in the same place as the original component.
To duplicate a component:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , in the Explorer window, right-click the component and select
    Duplicate
    .
  2. In the
    Save
     dialog box, type the new name for the component and click
    OK
    .
    TIP:
    Names for all FactoryTalk View application components, including graphic displays, parameter files, macro files, events files, derived tag files, and data log files, do not support extended ASCII characters or Unicode characters.
