Common actions in the Explorer

Some actions are common Windows actions and are not described here. The following are described because of their importance when using
FactoryTalk View Studio
.
To do this
Follow these steps
Open a
FactoryTalk View
 editor
Do one of the following:
  • Double-click the editor’s icon if the editor does not have components.
  • Drag the editor’s icon from the Explorer window to the workspace.
  • Right-click the editor’s icon and select
    Open
     or
    New
    .
    The context menu contains
    New
     if you can create a component within the editor, or Show, if you cannot create a component.
Open an editor’s component
Do one of the following:
  • Double-click the component.
  • Right-click the component and select
    Open
    .
  • Drag the component from the Explorer window to the workspace.
Set up security for resources
Right-click the
System
 folder, or a folder or icon within it, and select
Security
. You can then specify permissions in the
Security Settings
 dialog box. For instructions, click
Help
.
