Add a copy of an HMI server - network station

You can add a copy of an existing HMI server to a network station application by using the
Copy an HMI server
option, in the
Add HMI Server
wizard.
TIP:
The server to be copied cannot be part of the current application. You can either copy a server from another application, or copy one that is not currently part of any application. If you are copying one that is part of another application, make sure that the server is not loaded when you try to copy it.
Names for the following FactoryTalk View Studio components do not support extended ASCII characters or Unicode characters: applications, areas, HMI servers, data servers, HMI tags,
FactoryTalk Linx
shortcuts, and FactoryTalk View Studio application files (. SED).
To add a copy of an HMI server:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , in the Explorer window, right-click the application and select
    New Area
    .
  2. In the
    New Area
    dialog box, specify a name and description and click
    OK
    .
  3. Right-click the area's icon and then click
    Add New Server
    >
    HMI Server
    .
  4. In the
    Select Operation
    window of the HMI Server wizard, click
    Copy an HMI server
    >
    Next
    .
  5. In the
    Select Existing HMI Server
    window, beside the
    Server name
    field, click the down arrow to scroll the list of servers and select one, and then click
    Next
    .
  6. In the
    New HMI Server Properties
    window, type the name and a description for the new server.
  7. Click
    Finish
    .
