Import an HMI project
When you create a local station application you can either create a new HMI server and project, or import an existing HMI project.

When you import an RSView32 project to create an HMI server in a
FactoryTalk View SE
application, component names that contain certain characters are invalid and will not be converted. The characters that cause this to happen are:% : ; < > \ "" # { } | ^ ~ [ ] ' / . * ? & =
Extended ASCII characters or Unicode characters are not supported in the names for applications, areas, HMI servers, data servers, HMI tags,

shortcuts, and FactoryTalk View Studio
application files (.SED).To import an HMI project:
- SelectStart>.FactoryTalk View Studio
- In theApplication Type Selectionwindow, clickView Site Edition (Local Station)>Continue.
- In theNew/Open Site Edition (Local Station) Applicationwindow, click theNewtab.
- Type an application name and description and then clickImport.
- In theImport Filewindow, click the type of project you plan to import and then clickNext.
- In theImport projectwindow, beside theProject filefield, click theBrowse (...)to browse for the project files that are available, and select one.
- ClickFinish.
