Area Browser

Use the
Area Browser
to browse through the areas of the currently open application, and to select an area. The
Area Browser
is available where you are required to select an area, for example in the
Area
field within the
Command Wizard
or
FactoryTalk View SE
Client Wizard
.
In the
Area Browser
, the name of the home area is displayed in bold. In this context, the home area is the area that the component you are editing is stored in.
If the area that is selected is a sub-area of the home area, the
Area Browser
returns a relative reference to the calling program. Otherwise, the
Area Browser
returns an absolute reference to the calling program.
Areas are displayed in alphabetical order. In the
Explorer
window of an application that contains areas and data servers at the same level, the areas are listed before the data servers. In this hierarchy, the areas and data servers are listed in alphabetical order. If data servers and an HMI server are at the same level in the
Explorer
, the data servers are listed in alphabetical order, before the HMI server.
