Device Variables

Device Variables are direct or indirect process measurements performed by the HART Field Devices.

The most important of these direct or indirect process measurements is assigned to the Primary Variable (PV). Read additional measurements from the HART Field Device over the HART communication protocol. These additional measurements are mapped to the Secondary Variable (SV), Tertiary Variable (TV), and Fourth (Quaternary) Variable (FV).

The PV, SV, TV, and FV variables are collectively called Dynamic Variables.
