Add the HART EDD file

The HART device EDD files are included with the HART device profiles. If additional EDD files are required, download the EDD file. This file may be available from the Documents and Downloads page at the FieldCommGroup website https://www.fieldcommgroup.org. Otherwise request the file from the HART Device vendor.
To add the HART EDD file
  1. From the
    Device definition
     dialog box -
    Overview
     view, select
    Add HART EDD
    .
  2. In the
    Add HART EDD
     dialog box, browse to the location of the EDD file.
  3. Select the HART EDD file and select
    ADD
    .
    The message
    Successfully added EDD
     appears and the dialog box closes.
When adding a HART EDD file, an error message appears when:
  • the selected file is not an EDD file.
  • an EDD file for the device is not included.
  • the device revision is not found for the device.
