Functional Safety Reference

When the controller is safety-enabled, the controller system is certified for use in safety applications up to and including SIL 2/PLd and SIL 3/PLe where the de-energized state is the safe state.

For SIL 3/PLe safety applications, the system is made up of a primary controller and a safety partner that function together in a 1oo2 architecture.

You must read, understand, and fulfill safety requirements as described in this manual before you operate a SIL 2/PLd or SIL 3/PLe safety system.
