Parameter
Description
Device type
Displays the type of the device.
Change type
Changes the type of the device.
Name
Specifies the name of the device.
The name must be IEC_61131 compliant. If an invalid character is entered in this field, or if the name exceeds 40 characters, the software ignores the character. You cannot change the name when online.
Description
Specifies the description for the device.
If the description exceeds the maximum length of 512 characters, the software ignores any extra characters.
Ethernet Address
Specifies the IP configuration for the device.
  • Private Network
     – Select the value from the list from 1…254.
  • IP Address
     – Enter a unique IP address to identify each node on the IP network.
  • Host Name
     – Enter a fully qualified domain name, such as
    module.yourcompany.com
    .
Series
Specifies the device hardware series.
Revision
Specifies the device firmware revision, including major and minor revision levels.
Electronic keying
Specifies the Electronic Keying used for the device. Electronic Keying compares the device defined in your project to the installed device. If keying fails, a fault occurs. Possible values include:
  • Compatible Module
  • Exact Match
  • Disable Keying

WARNING: Electronic Keying in this dialog is for this device and not for the IO-Link devices connected to the device.
Channel Mode Assignment
Specifies the method to assign Channel Modes for the device. Possible values include:
  • User-Selectable
     – Supports the full Highly-integrated IO-Link feature
  • Predefined with Generic IO-Link
     – Simplified IO-Link support. Generic IO-Link data is available through the IO-Link master connection.
    You cannot add IO-Link devices in the I/O tree and IO-Link device parameter configuration is not supported.
    You must select this option if you want to configure the Connection as Listen Only.
Predefined with Generic IO-Link
 is only available when you select Major Revision 3 in the Device Definition dialog. If you select Major Revision 1 or 2, then
User-Selectable
 is the only method for Channel Mode Assignment.
Connection
When Channel Mode Assignment is configured as
User-Selectable
, possible values include:
  • Data
  • Data and Ethernet Status
  • Data with Events
  • Data with Events and Ethernet Status
When Channel Mode Assignment is configured as
Predefined with Generic IO-Link
, possible values include:
  • Data
  • Data with Events
  • Listen Only Data
  • Listen Only Data with Events
