Use the
Device definition
dialog box to configure:- The device identity.
- The advanced ethernet settings.
- Minor and major revision numbers for the firmware associated with the device.
- Electronic keying for the device.IMPORTANT:Changing the electronic keying when online interrupts connection to the device and any device that is connected through the device. Connections from other controllers can also be broken. If an I/O connection to a device is interrupted, data loss can occur.
- The type of connection used with the device.TIP:The Connection parameter affects the configuration options available for Input Data and Output Data and determines what data is exchanged between the owner-controller and the device.
