Memory Card configuration page

A memory card is primarily used to back up project files and store data logs and recipe files.
The
Memory Card
configuration page is available for L20E controllers. Use the page to do the following actions:
  • Back up project files to the memory card.
  • Restore project files from the memory card.
  • Open the controller diagnostics view to compare the memory card settings in the memory card and the project.

Setting
Description
Diagnose
Opens the controller diagnostics view.
The button is available when the controller is online.
Load on power-up
Specifies the memory card behavior when the L20E controller is turned on. Options include:
  • Load always
    : Load the user program from the memory card each time the L20E controller is turned on.
  • Load on memory error
    : Load the user program when a memory fault occurs. Memory faults occur when a user program cannot be loaded or is deleted from the controller.
  • Disabled
    : Do not load the user program from the memory card. This is the default setting.
Overwrite Ethernet settings
Specifies whether to overwrite the Ethernet settings using the settings in the memory card.
The behavior of
Overwrite Ethernet settings
varies with the selected option for
Load on power-up
:
  • When
    Load on power-up
    is
    Disabled
    , the checkbox is not available.
  • When
    Load on power-up
    is
    Load on memory error
    , the checkbox is selected and read-only.
  • When
    Load on power-up
    is
    Load always
    , the checkbox is selected by default and can be cleared as needed.
The Modbus server state settings are overwritten no matter the checkbox is selected or not.
Include variable values upon backup and restore
Determines whether to include project and logical values of variables when backing up or restoring a user program to or from the memory card.
By default, the checkbox is cleared.
Enable encryption on user backup project
Turns on encryption when backing up controller projects. By default, the checkbox is cleared.
Starts backing up user programs and L20E controller project files to the memory card. The button is available under the following conditions:
  • A memory card is detected.
  • The controller is in
    Remote program
    mode.
Starts restoring user programs and L20E controller project files from the memory card. The button is available under the following conditions:
  • The memory card that stores the project is detected.
  • The controller is in
    Remote program
    mode.
