Counter 0 configuration

When selecting the
High-speed counter instructions
 mode, two nodes of
Counter 0
 and
Counter 1
 are created on the
2080-MOT-HSC
 page under the
Configuration
 node.

Description
Operation mode
Specifies the operation mode for
Counter 0
.
The graphic descriptions of the counting mode are to the right of the options. The graphic changes when the operation mode changes.
Counter 0 supports the following operation modes:
  • 1 - count up 0 to hp
  • 3 - count with ext dir
  • 5 - two inputs
  • 7 - quadrature X1
  • 9 - quadrature X4
  • 11 - quadrature X2
  • 13 - count down 0 to lp
OF/UF behavior
Specifies the counter type for
Counter 0
. This option is not available for operation mode
1 - count up 0 to hp
 or
13 - count down 0 to lp
.
Options are:
  • Ring
  • Linear
Direction
Specifies the counter direction for
Counter 0
. This option is not available for operation mode
1 - count up 0 to hp
 or
13 - count down 0 to lp
.
Options are:
  • Default direction
  • Invert direction
  • Always count up
  • Always count down
Rate
Specifies the rate for
Counter 0
. You must specify the following four parameters:
  • User unit
    Options include
    mm
    ,
    cm
    ,
    inches
    , and
    revs
    . The default option is
    mm
    .
  • Pulses per user unit
    The input is from 1 through 4294967295. The default value is 1.
  • Per pulse
    The input is from 1 through 255. The default value is 1.
  • Cyclic period
    The input is from 1 through 16777215. The default value is 10000.
Z Input
Specifies the invert property and function mode of
Counter 0
.
  • Invert
     is disabled by default.
  • The following six functions are available for
    Z Input
    .
    • Unassigned
      : No function is configured for
      Z Input
      .
    • Touch probe
      : Sets up the touch probe to
      Z Input
      .
    • Preset
      : Presets the count value to the value in the preset word on the rising edge of
      Z Input
      .
    • Hold
      : When
      Z Input
       equals 1, holds counter at its current value.
    • Touch probe and preset
      : Sets up the
      Touch probe
       and
      Preset
       functions to
      Z Input
      .
