Configure an Ethernet/IP port
To configure an Ethernet communication port, perform the following steps:
- In theNetwork Configuration Typebox, specify the network type, Dynamic or Static option.TIP:If you select a Dynamic network type, complete step 2 and then steps 10 through 11 only. If you select a Static network type, complete steps 3 through 11.
- Select one of the two interface configuration values BOOTP or DHCP, which the device will use to obtain an initial IP address at start-up.
- Specify theIP Addressof the device.
- Specify theNetwork Maskor subnet mask of the device.
- Specify a defaultGateway Address, indicating the IP address of the default gateway of the device.
- Specify the address of thePrimary Name Server(or DNS server). This address is used to resolve host names.
- Specify the address of theSecondary Name Server(or DNS server). This address is used when the primary name server is not available or unable to resolve a host name.
- Enter aDomain Name(maximum of 48 characters). This name is used when resolving host names that are not fully qualified.
- Enter aHost Name(maximum of 64 characters).
- Review theStatusarea
- When complete, clickOK.
