Configure a 1756-ENET port
If you are configuring a 1756-ENET module, you can configure a 1756-ENET communication port.
Automatically configure an Ethernet/IP port
Select the
Obtain IP Address from Bootp Server
check box to allow the Gateway Configuration Tool to obtain IP addresses from the BOOTP server, and click OK
. Manually configure an Ethernet/IP port
- Clear theObtain IP Address from Bootp Servercheck box.
- Enter theIP Addressfor the device.
- Enter theSubnet Maskfor the device, which is used when an IP network has been partitioned into subnets.
- Enter a defaultGateway Address, indicating the IP address of the device's default gateway.
- Enter the address of thePrimary Name Server. This address is used to resolve host names.
- Enter the address of theSecondary Name Server. This address is used when the primary name server is not available or unable to resolve a host name.
- Enter a defaultDomain Name(maximum of 48 characters). This name is used when resolving host names that are not fully qualified.
- ClickOK.
