Configure a 1756-ENET port

If you are configuring a 1756-ENET module, you can configure a 1756-ENET communication port.
Automatically configure an Ethernet/IP port
Select the
Obtain IP Address from Bootp Server
check box to allow the Gateway Configuration Tool to obtain IP addresses from the BOOTP server, and click
OK
.
Manually configure an Ethernet/IP port
  1. Clear the
    Obtain IP Address from Bootp Server
    check box.
  2. Enter the
    IP Address
    for the device.
  3. Enter the
    Subnet Mask
    for the device, which is used when an IP network has been partitioned into subnets.
  4. Enter a default
    Gateway Address
    , indicating the IP address of the device's default gateway.
  5. Enter the address of the
    Primary Name Server
    . This address is used to resolve host names.
  6. Enter the address of the
    Secondary Name Server
    . This address is used when the primary name server is not available or unable to resolve a host name.
  7. Enter a default
    Domain Name
    (maximum of 48 characters). This name is used when resolving host names that are not fully qualified.
  8. Click
    OK
    .
