The RTD Server Interface is not working

The RTD Server Interface is not working. Use these steps to troubleshoot.
  • Verify if
    RTD Server Interface
is enabled in FactoryTalk Linx Gateway.
  • Verify if the FactoryTalk Linx Gateway RTD add-in is not added in Excel. Do the following:
    1. Open
      Excel
      .
    2. Select
      File
      >
      Options
      >
      Add-Ins
      .
    3. Next to
      Manage
      , select
      Disabled Items
      >
      Go
      .
    4. In the
      Disabled Items
      dialog box, select
      FTLinxGatewayRTD
      >
      Enable
      >
      Close
      .
  • Verify if there is an available activation used in FactoryTalk Linx Gateway.
  • Verify the tag names used to reference data in Excel use the correct format defined in FactoryTalk Linx Gateway.
  • Verify if there are multiple users are using the RTD function on one computer. For example, multiple users use RDS to access a server running FactoryTalk Linx Gateway serving RTD, or multiple users signs in to the same computer to use the RTD function. The RTD function only supports one user on one computer.
  • Disable
    RTD Server Interface
    , click
    Save
    , then enable
    RTD Server Interface
    ,
    and click
    Save.
  • Restart Excel.
  • Restart the computer.
If users copy the formula to Excel with the double quotation marks containing incorrect formats, the tag values shown may be abnormal. Remove the copied double quotation marks and enter them using the keyboard.
If you switch Windows users when you are using RTD, RTD may not work as intended. Sign out users and then sign in.
