Reset FactoryTalk Linx Gateway

When you cannot open or save the configurations or want to start with a new / empty configuration, the following process can be used to reset FactoryTalk Linx Gateway. This will create a new configuration similar to the default one after installation. If you want to use a previous configuration, perform a backup and restore operation:
Prerequisites
  • Make sure that the system or environment will not be impacted.
  • Make sure that you have administrator rights.
To reset FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
  1. Close FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Configuration.
  2. Go to Windows
    Services
    , and then stop these FactoryTalk Linx Gateway services:
    • FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Administration Service
    • FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Configuration UI Service
    • FactoryTalk Linx Gateway OPC DA Server
    • FactoryTalk Linx Gateway OPC DA Standalone Server
    • FactoryTalk Linx Gateway OPC UA Server
    • FactoryTalk Linx Gateway Supervisor
  3. Go to C:\ProgramData\Rockwell, and then delete the
    FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
     folder.
  4. Restart FactoryTalk Linx Gateway.
