To use FactoryTalk Linx Gateway, obtain an activation file that includes an activation key before setting up the software. If the system fails to detect the activation file, an error is logged to

, and the system operates under a grace period.

The activation type determines feature support and the maximum capacity of unique tags that can be added to the

server. Increase this count with additional activations and

servers and obtain an activation file for each

FactoryTalk Linx Gateway

server when using different tag counts or features.

We recommend using a shared concurrent activation, which is locked to an activation server computer, but shared by client computers on the network. See
