Configure Windows firewall for Remote FactoryTalk Linx Gateway

If you install Remote
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
 on a remote third-party OPC client, you must configure
Windows
 firewall to allow connections with the
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
 server. This is automatically configured after installation of
FactoryTalk Gateway
 version 3.90.00 and later. If you want to verify the setting or make changes, follow these steps.
To configure Windows firewall
  1. Select
    Start
    >
    Control Panel
     >
    System and Security
    (View by: Category).
  2. In the Windows search box, enter
    Allow an app through Windows Firewall
    , and then press
    Enter
    .
  3. In the
    Allowed Programs and features
     list, verify the
    program
    OPCTest.exe
     which
    FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
     provided, or your own application for remote connecting, is in the list. If you cannot find it in the list, you can click
    Allow another program
     to browse and add it to the allowed programs list.
  4. Click
    OK
     to save the changes and close the dialog box.
