Assign roles

Assign roles with specific permissions for authorized Windows-linked FactoryTalk users. Users and user groups can belong to multiple roles, but they will sign in to Historian WebTrend with the role that has the highest level of permissions.
To assign a role
  1. Open
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
    , in the
    Explorer
    pane, go to
    System
    >
    Policies
    >
    Product Policies
    >
    FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition
    .
  2. Double-click
    Feature Security
    .
  3. In the dialog, under
    Historian WebTrend
    , select
    …
     next to the role of
    Viewer
    ,
    Editor
    , or
    Administrator
    .
  4. In the dialog, on the
    Directory Cache
     tab, select
    Add
    .
  5. In the dialog, select groups or users that you want to assign a role, and then select
    OK
    .
    On the
    Directory Cache
     tab, the users you added are listed.
  6. Select
    OK
    .
