Manage Historian WebTrend roles

Historian WebTrend uses FactoryTalk for user authentication. When users sign in to Historian WebTrend, FactoryTalk account information is copied to Historian WebTrend. This allows Historian WebTrend to manage the trends linked to FactoryTalk accounts. To manage FactoryTalk accounts and privileges, go to
FactoryTalk Administration Console
. Starting with
FactoryTalk Historian SE
version 12.00.00, FactoryTalk users must be assigned a role before they can sign in to Historian WebTrend. If FactoryTalk users are in the default Administrators group, they automatically have the Editor role when signing in to Historian WebTrend.
TIP:
  • If FactoryTalk users are removed from
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
, Historian WebTrend will not receive a notification. However, you cannot sign in to Historian WebTrend using these accounts.
  • If FactoryTalk users are removed from Historian WebTrend, they are only removed from the Historian WebTrend database, not from the FactoryTalk system. These users will be active again when they sign in to Historian WebTrend.
