Automatically assign IP with Commission from range

For devices with MAC addresses configured, use
Commission from rang
e to automatically assign IP addresses from a contiguous user-defined set, as devices make requests.
TIP:
This method of assigning IP addresses is only recommended if the system design will be updated to reflect the IP Addresses assigned via this process. The devices must be configured to utilize BOOTP/DHCP at startup. It is recommended to switch devices to static mode after IP Addresses are assigned so that they retain the address.
Prerequisites
  • Select a Network Interface Card (NIC).
  • Complete the Network information on the
    Settings
     tab.
To automatically assign IP address for a device
  1. From the
    EtherNet/IP Address Commissioning Tool
    , click
    Unassigned
    .
  2. Click
    Commission from range
    , read the information, and then click
    OK
    .
  3. Define the auto-assign IP range, and then click
    Start
    .
