Duplicate items

Description
Number of duplicate items for the selected
FactoryTalk Linx Gateway
provider.
Duplicate items are given a numerical suffix (i.e., itemname (#)) to distinguish them and are treated as unique tags. Duplicate items are numbered sequentially as they are added, regardless of the Group to which they are added.
For example, CIPDoseAcid.Complete has been added twice to Group1 in the figure below. If this item was added again to a different Group, it would appear as CIPDoseAcid.Complete (3) within that Group. Then, if this item was added again to Group1, it would appear as CIPDoseAcid.Complete (4).
If any of these items is deleted from any group, the items are not re-numbered. For example, if CIPDoseAcid.Complete (2) was deleted, the remaining tags would still be named CIPDoseAcid.Complete, CIPDoseAcid.Complete (3), and CIPDoseAcid.Complete (4).
You can verify and locate duplicate tags using the snapshot feature. Refer to Create a snapshot.
